Patek Philippe Beta 21 18K Gold TV Case Swiss Cheese Bracelet Ref 3587-2
This is a very cool and funky looking vintage Patek from the 1970s with funky 70s TV case. The watch houses a Beta 21 movement. In the early 60s, several prominent brands, including Rolex and Patek Philippe, collaborated on the development of what became known the Beta 21 movement at the Centre Electronique Horologer (CEH). By the end of the 1960s approximately 6000 Beta 21 movements had been made, each virtually identical (except a few minor modifications on a brand-by-brand basis) and they were put into production- and these from the house of Patek are rare ; around 400 of these watches were made , around 350 in yellow gold and 40/50 pieces in white gold !
This example is housed in a yellow gold TV case that just screams 1970s cool! The champagne dial is in fantastic condition with crisp black text and cool date aperture. These cool Pateks were fitted with either a leather strap, Milanese bracelet or in rare cases the so-called Swiss Cheese bracelet like this ! It’s so amazing and will fit a wrist size up to 18.5cm. The movement has been fully checked by our watchmaker and a new battery fitted.
